We had a super nice journey this time. The flight over to Australia went super quickly. The food on the plane was awful though. We arrived in the middle of the night and had to wait for ages to get my luggage. In the end I slept like three hours. Today was a bit of wind so I took advantage of it and drove down to Woodies. Paul Smyth was there as well. He took a couple of pictures there. So I hope to get heaps of more pictures done soon. It’s looking windy for tomorrow. So maybe we’ll get some done tomorrow. Other than that the water is not that cold. I was afraid of that. But it is alright.. Hope to upload some more pics tomorrow. So have a look then again. Read more ...

Tomorrow night I’ll be flying back to Australia. My girlfriend has to go back to uni. So we need to head back there. A bit weird to go from summer with long hot days to a place where it is still warm but the days are shorter. On the other hand, winter means swell in Australia. And I am more than keen on getting into waves again. Surfing is just so much fun and so challanging as well. I am taking my kitestuff with me too. There is still a good chance going kiting in winter though. Gotta keep packing. See ya in Perth. Read more ...

So here I am again. Back in Germany just in time for Easter. Hope u have got a lot of chocolate to stand this cold weather :) In the latest Kitelife issue is a double page with a frontmobe of me. Picture was taken by David Sonnabend again who is my personal photographer :) The trip to Germany was alright. At first they put me on standby in Perth cos the flight was overbooked again. They left it to the very last second to decide whether I wld make it on the flight or not. Eventually I cld get on the plane. After I was checked double at the immigration again, and some bomb searchers who went through all my stuff, the plane cld departure 20min late. How bizarre when the cabin crew yells at u y u r so late. Their mistake. weirdos.. Today I am going back to Greifswald as uni starts tomorrow again. Hope to get on the water again in thick wetsuits. brrrrr. Soon I’ll show u another little video of me training at Safety Bay. So stay tuned. Read more ...

So after a lot of trouble with editing and crashing PCs, it is done eventually. The little film DRIVE shows a couple of spots around Perth. There’s also a bit of surfing in it. A little update from Perth. It’s been super hot the last days. I reckon it’s been about 40°C everyday. That means that seabreeze kicks in everyday as well. So I could go kiting at Pelican Point the last days which is a super nice spot in the middle of the city. When you ride a bit further out on the river you can have a perfect view on the Perthian skyline. Just amazing. We also could use the last days to shoot a bit for the Kitelife Magazine. Just super sweet colours here. Plus the fact that there aren’t many people kiting on the river makes it just perfect. Training, if you wanna call it like this, has been going on really well. I could land some new tricks like a Late Mobe and S-Bend 3. The swell has also picked up a lot. Today was about shoulder to head high. For me as a surf-idiot really scary. But good to see the guys ripping it really hard. Next week there’s gonna be Xavier Rudd, The Cat Empire and The Beautiful Girls in town. I am really looking forward to seeing these bands again. So far.. Now I have to get back to my English essays I have to write for uni. 2500 is way to much when there’s 40°C outside. Read more ...

It’s about time, that I tell u a bit what’s been happening here in Down Under. The last weeks have been a blast. The weather has been fantastic and there has been wind almost every day. Last weekend we went on a road trip down south to my favourite surf spot Denmark. Although travelling for more than six hours it is really worth the effort. The little country town with the award winning pie shop has to be loved. Whoever has been reading my blog over the years has read about that town before. Besides travelling I’ve been going down to Woodies a lot. Alex Pastor, Cesar Portas and Bruna Kajiya are also in Perth at the moment so it is a lot of fun riding with them. Little by little I am getting back to my last year’s shape. I could really feel that i had not been kiting for five month. So there is still a lot to catch up with. That is the state of affairs so far. I am going for a surf now at Trigg’s Point. Read more ...

Eventually I am back to Perth. I arrived last night. Actually I booked a flight one day earlier. So I popped up at the airport but the flight was totally overbooked. The airline looked for volunteers who would take the flight a day after. We got a nice accommodation and food vouchers. So that was really easy and a nice day. Unfortunately there was no Fry and Bender on the plane but still a good flight. I slept just two hours now. It’s early in the morning and quite stormy already. So I am super keen on hitting to the water and see all the other good riders who are here at the moment for the Core Slider Jam. I’d better stop now and get a cell phone card and get in contact with my buddy Sci. So I’ll have a lot to talk about and a lot of video stuff to show you the next days. Read more ...

Eventually, I’ll go back to Perth on 30th of January. I just booked my flights. It was a little hustle to get the visa and flights and so on. However, I am so happy that everything has worked out and I am going back! So you will find a lot of pics and videos from Woodman Point, Trigg’s and Kangaroos again on my page. Denmark was so sweet. We had awesome waves and pretty strong winds. However, I was so keen on ripping the waves with my shortboard that I barely took my kite gear out of the boot. Anyways, the most important bit was to hang around in a spa bath and sauna. So after the freezing North Sea we could relax super well. We drove back a day earlier to be back in time for the Boardway Testival two weeks ago. We had super sweet winds and a real good party. Apart from that we did a little race. I came in third. So much fun.. Last weekend David Sonnabend took some pictures again. It’s so good to shoot with him. You really don’t have to focus on what u do, he captures it so well. You’ll find the pics in the gallery. Next weekend we’ll have a wedding again. So I hope that’ll be a good party as well. It must be good cos the party will be at the beach. On next monday then, Ben Harper will come to Berlin. I am so looking forward to seeing him again. Have a good one.. Read more ...

What’s been going on this last month? Well, actually quite a lot. My beloved brother and his lovely girlfriend have become parents. So automatically I have become an uncle of Pepe now. Not that difficult as you don’t have to do that much for it. But still you are that proud and happy!! The other baby is called Max and is my new car. Last saturday I drove spontaniously to Berlin to buy my new vehicle.. Everything turned out to be good so I took it. It is a Opel Astra Caravan. So i have to take care for Max now.. Eventually the board-shorts of Schwerelosigkite hit the market yesterday. I am so happy cos together with the company the teamriders made the designs. There are such nice boardies and I hope you like them too. On sunday we took a couple of good shots again. I just decided to take a few. I hate uploading too many pics you get bored off after a while. Anyway, click here to have a look at them. You’ll see the new shorts as well. :) Next weekend a couple of friends of mine (Nina & Andy) and I are going to Denmark. It’s gonna be a lovely kiting and surfing trip. Just got back from a last minute trip to Mexico. Lucky enough that Paul had a good friend down there so we stayed with this really cool girl Kirsten. Had a really good time and met a ton of really cool people. We kinda got screwed on wind, had some really strange weather, but got to ride two days, one on my 8 Nemi, so i was super stoked!

  So I just got back from the King of the Great Lakes event, ended up that we had no wind, but that being said, it was probably as much fun as it could have been. All the guys at Mackiteboarding were super cool, and even though we had no wind tried to make the best of the situation. We had stand up paddleboard races, and did quite a bit of wakeboarding. The guys had a winch, Jet Ski and a kicker and slider, so the second day we had a little bit of a freestyle event. Actually ended up getting second in freestyle ha-ha, definitely the best I’ve done without ever going kiting! Had a Great time. Read more ...
