Hello everybody, At the end of the first stop of the World Championship, I went to Barcelona to get into the FC Barcelona’s medical services. When I arrived at El Prat airport, I went directly to the Camp Nou where doctors Canal and Endolç were waiting for me. After medical tests, they diagnosed me a sprain of the internal lateral ligament, grade 1. Relatively, it was good news! No more talking about the meniscus broken! That was what they diagnosed in Germany. The symptoms indicating the rupture of the meniscus was caused by a muscular contraction. The muscles contraction act like a defense mechanism, and prevented the rupture of ligaments. I told the doctors that wanted to compete in a week in Tarifa, and said I was going to be very close. We need at least 15 days, to recover an injury like mine. We were looking the best way that I could compete in the next event. The solution is to use a kneepad to hold and limit the injured ligament. I spent a week in Barcelona with Ferrán the best physiotherapist of the world doing rehabilitation. Besides it is very good at his job, it’s very kind! He has been very nice to me. Thanks Ferrán. In Barcelona I was subjected to an anti-algic treatment, to reduce pain through an electro therapy and massages with diathermy to reduce inflammation. Besides of the treatment, I was also doing exercises to improve the stability of my knee. I want to thank Barça for all the support and help that have given to me to recover the injury; it’s lucky to have the best professionals. Now I am in Tarifa, today we have the presentation of the second step of the KPWT World Championship. Thanks to great work that FC Barcelona’s medical services made me, I will be able to participate although I won’t be 100%, I’ll be super motivated and I will give everything. Hi everybody! Yesterday we disputed the double elimination of freestyle, and finally I could keep the first position. The pain in my knee was not so strong, but I went to the doctor again for infiltrate a painkiller. It is incredible, when they injected to me, after 15 minutes I had no pain and I could compete with a lot of motivation and confidence. I tried to ride the best as possible and to give the greatest show, but with a little caution. In the final I faced Kristin Boese again. The conditions were one of my favorites, although the sea was very choppy, near the beach was quite flat with a perfect kicker, similar to Tarifa. I competed with the Airush Generator 7.5m, my favorite kite and made 4 handle passes in the heat; blind judge, front mobe, slim chance and 313. At the last minute I tried the back mobe but I didn’t land it. These final wasn’t the best I’ve ever done, but I am happy because I rode quite powerful. Read more ...

KPWT Sylt Germany - Single Elimination

Hi everyone, Today I faced a challenge and obstacle I have never experienced before. We had the single elimination of Freestyle at the World Cup in Sylt (Germany). During my warm-up before the heat I had an accidente. When landing a trick I hurt my knee. I really thought I would not be able to compete as it was really painful. I put ice for a long time and anti-inflamatory cream, but this didn’t make it better so I went to the doctor. They did an X-ray which showed the bones were OK, the pain was due to the tearing of the interior meniscus. The doctor asked me if I wanted to compete and I said ‘of course, doctor!’, so they stuck two injections of anti-inflamatory and pain killers which was rather painful. I had to really be careful when competing because my knee was hurting so much. I won all my heats with very technical tricks but avoided power landings; I was really scared of the pain landing. I progressed to the final where I met Kristin Boeses, the local German rider. In the final I had to push myself to my limit to win against Boese. I successfully landed 5 different kind of handle-passes that led me to my victory in this single elimination. Read more ...

Hi guys! I have finished the high school, finally holidays! This last week has been very hard, with all the final exams, but I’m happy because I did it well. Yesterday I travelled to Germany, to compete in the KPWT in Sylt. We left from the airport in Malaga, with the huge board bags, and with the riders Ainhoa Garcia and Rafa Aguado. When we arrived to Hamburg, we met Kirstin Jones, rider of the North, and we went together to Sylt by car. You know what…….? It’s impossible to get to Sylt by car, so we had to go through a ferry, which in this case is a train!! When we arrived, I couldn’t believe it, so long and tired trip! Today we had the inscriptions of the riders, and I have met many friends as Jan Marco, Mitu Monteiro, Kristin Boesse and many more. What memories! Hi all! This weekend I was in Barcelona to assist at the Movistar Barcelona Extreme. It is a sports event involving the major skateboard, BMX, inline, FMX, urban jibbing and wakeboard riders. I was impressed because of the number of people who were at the event! I was competing in wakeboarding discipline. There were many obstacles, including a kicker and a slider, and it was very difficult because we were pulled by a jet ski, but we had fun. I also made Bungee jumping from a 70m high crane. I have made skydiving in tandem, and is a very special feeling. But with the Bungee it was much more scary because is much closer to the ground. I went to see the competition of all other sports and I saw the Red Bull sportsman competing as well such as Sergio Layos and Vicky Gómez in BMX and Danny León in skateboarding. They are awesome! Hi all! Seizing that I was in Barcelona for the presentation of the Movistar Barcelona Extreme, I stayed there some few more days. On Saturday 23rd, I was with Pol Espargaró, the young motorbike pilot. Pol and I are part of the new Arnette team. It was very funny, because Pol taught me how to pilot water motorbikes. The sea was very moved, there was a lot of waves and choppy and how we were going pretty fast, we were jumping so high!! I was all the time behind Pol, but I couldn’t catch him, it’s amazing how he dominates! Then we went to the beach, and as we had a little wind, I pump the kite and though him how to fly them. He was doing it pretty well, I think that fly a kite is similar to pilot a motorbike. But after, when the wind picks up, he was a bit scared. Anyway he did very well. Read more ...

Last week I was in Barcelona, because Thursday 21st was the presentation of the Barcelona Movistar Extreme, at the Lyceum. Very curious, making a freestyle and extreme sports event in a classic and old place such this one. The Movistar Barcelona Extreme is just an extreme sports event, as the word says, which will compete in many different disciplines, like BMX, Skateboard, Freestyle Motocross, and many others. It will be a new experience for me because I will compete in Wakeboarding. I haven’t had many chances to practice this sport. In some competitions, which we had no wind, we take the security boat and just do it with a bar and our kite boards. I remember also that I tried the Cable-Ski in Leucate, France and I really like it, it was a nice feeling. The most important thing is having good fun and enjoy! Is pretty cool as well because you can use it as training, because the tricks in wake are harder, I mean… you are pulled with a boat, and then the tricks in kite look much more powerful and stylish. The guys from there told me that will be some obstacles, one kicker and one box. Amazing! Besides of the competitions and exhibitions, there will also be an area for people who want to try all kind of sports. I think is going to be very cool, so I just wanted to invite everybody to come and have fun. The event will celebrate the 6th and 7th June in El Parc del Forum, Barcelona. See you guys there! Hi all! As you know my job consist in train and compete in the Kitesurfing World Cup. On the other hand I have to attend the media, answering interviews and providing information and photos about my sport, always giving the best visibility to my sponsors. But there is a part of my work lesser known, that is working with my sponsors in some events. In this occasion I attended in the Cars Fair in Barcelona with Nissan. As everybody knows, Nissan is one of the biggest car manufacturers in the world and has support a line of adventure sports “Nissan Sports Adventure”. I have fitted in this project because Kitesurf is an extreme and adventure sport. The search of the best places in the world to practice kitesurfing is a way of life for many kiters, who travel around the world with the dream of finding the Secret Spot. Nissan puts in our hands the best technology to make this search more secure and comfortable. To encourage some visitors of the Fair, I took some Indo Boards, so that everyone could feel sensations of surfing. The Indo Board is a training table for sliding sports. It consist in simulate the gestures of surf balancing on a roller. We had a lot of fun with these simple boards that keep the balance with a super technical and surfing posture is all a challenge. Hey guys! This weekend I’m in Barcelona. Yesterday, Saturday I was the the circuit of Montmeló, watching the Formula 1 training. I had the opportunity to visit the Red Bull Racing pit team.  It is really impressive to see everybody working in the team, all in their team colours. The most spectacular thing to see is how fast they change the tyres. Each mechanic controls a device and all together synchronized take data that are interpreted by computers in the real time. They have an incredible and super secret technology and they don’t let you take pictures, their working methods are very exclusive. The strong smell of gasoline and the roar of engines gives you a lot of adrenaline. I wanted to take a F1 and go around, haha!! I really enjoyed. Tomorrow I will be in the cars fair together with Nissan. I brought some Indo Boards, so that the public can participate and feel sensations of surfing. Kiss everyone! I’ll tell how it was. Hi. Last Friday I was in Barcelona with my new Sponsor Nissan to pick up my new car…a PATHFINDER!!!  You cannot believe how stoked I am.  It is unreal, and finished in vinyl with images of me kiting on it.  And inside, well just just say it is fully loaded.  We drove back to Tarifa from Barcelona - a pretty good test run.  It is so comfortable and feels super safe & secure.  In the photo you can see me with Elisabet Sanchez, Nissan´s MKT Programs Manager.
