We had a super nice journey this time. The flight over to Australia went super quickly. The food on the plane was awful though. We arrived in the middle of the night and had to wait for ages to get my luggage. In the end I slept like three hours. Today was a bit of wind so I took advantage of it and drove down to Woodies. Paul Smyth was there as well. He took a couple of pictures there. So I hope to get heaps of more pictures done soon. It’s looking windy for tomorrow. So maybe we’ll get some done tomorrow. Other than that the water is not that cold. I was afraid of that. But it is alright.. Hope to upload some more pics tomorrow. So have a look then again. Read more ...

Tomorrow night I’ll be flying back to Australia. My girlfriend has to go back to uni. So we need to head back there. A bit weird to go from summer with long hot days to a place where it is still warm but the days are shorter. On the other hand, winter means swell in Australia. And I am more than keen on getting into waves again. Surfing is just so much fun and so challanging as well. I am taking my kitestuff with me too. There is still a good chance going kiting in winter though. Gotta keep packing. See ya in Perth. Read more ...

The new Kitelife issue #17 is out now. In the editorial there is a picture of me we took at a sunset session with David Sonnabend. The session was super tricky as the flashlights didn’t work well in the tupperware boxes. However, we got this sweet shot eventually. Hope to get some more flashlight pics soon. Besides this the Palmolive Kitesurf Worldcup started in Sankt Peter Ording yesterday. This year I cannot be there as I have to pass some uni exams. Sucks super bad! Nevertheless I’ll be going back to Australia in nine days. Will be good to be back in the waves to go for a surf. Read more ...

The new trick video is the blind judge this time. It is the basic handle pass trick and the easiest to start with. If you are able to land the railey to blind safely than go ahead and try the blind judge. Go a bit higher, harder and faster and you’ll get there. Have fun trying it. Good feeling to pass in the air. Last weekend we had the boardway slider session. Unfortunately we were not that lucky with wind. So we had to focus more on the party. Red Bull came with their party car and with a lot of Red Bull I had a blast being the DJ on the party car. Since David Sonnabend already came on Friday we cld shoot some bloody nice pictures at night. I am really happy about the pictures. Have a look at the gallery to have a glance at some of them. Here is the little clip of Safety Bay. That was the last day with kiting in Australia. So not very elaborated. Nevertheless a short impression of 10min kiting. Here in Germany it is so freezing. So we used the time to clean the boardway and work and built a bit to make it an even more beautiful place. The new website is online now as well. Really nice. So here I am again. Back in Germany just in time for Easter. Hope u have got a lot of chocolate to stand this cold weather :) In the latest Kitelife issue is a double page with a frontmobe of me. Picture was taken by David Sonnabend again who is my personal photographer :) The trip to Germany was alright. At first they put me on standby in Perth cos the flight was overbooked again. They left it to the very last second to decide whether I wld make it on the flight or not. Eventually I cld get on the plane. After I was checked double at the immigration again, and some bomb searchers who went through all my stuff, the plane cld departure 20min late. How bizarre when the cabin crew yells at u y u r so late. Their mistake. weirdos.. Today I am going back to Greifswald as uni starts tomorrow again. Hope to get on the water again in thick wetsuits. brrrrr. Soon I’ll show u another little video of me training at Safety Bay. So stay tuned. Read more ...

I was lucky the other day to get some new pictures again. The photographer is Paul Smyth. Thanks for taking the pictures. This time we went to Point Walter as the wind started coming from the east now. It seems that the windy season is over now. It is cloudy more often now and the wind keeps coming from the east. Hopefully the swell picks up a bit. Another Kitelife issue will be published during the next days with some nice stuff in it like travel story to Kenya and Ireland plus an interview with Xavier Rudd. There is this double page in a kiteboarding magazine of me. Funny enough though because they advertise for some spots around the world. This picture was taken at my homespot in Germany. Apparantely my homespot is the best in the world. Glad that this is offical now :) Other than that, it’s really nice here in WA still. Yesterday we went to Xavier Rudd. Brilliant as usual and his new band rocks as well. Tomorrow is The Cat Empire on. Obviously I am living a great life at the moment. The swell also has gotten bigger. So surfing is a lot of fun. It is still windy everyday as well and my body is begging me for a break. But no chance. You have to take what you are given and that is perfect conditions at the moment. That’s it so far again. A little update from Perth. It’s been super hot the last days. I reckon it’s been about 40°C everyday. That means that seabreeze kicks in everyday as well. So I could go kiting at Pelican Point the last days which is a super nice spot in the middle of the city. When you ride a bit further out on the river you can have a perfect view on the Perthian skyline. Just amazing. We also could use the last days to shoot a bit for the Kitelife Magazine. Just super sweet colours here. Plus the fact that there aren’t many people kiting on the river makes it just perfect. Training, if you wanna call it like this, has been going on really well. I could land some new tricks like a Late Mobe and S-Bend 3. The swell has also picked up a lot. Today was about shoulder to head high. For me as a surf-idiot really scary. But good to see the guys ripping it really hard. Next week there’s gonna be Xavier Rudd, The Cat Empire and The Beautiful Girls in town. I am really looking forward to seeing these bands again. So far.. Now I have to get back to my English essays I have to write for uni. 2500 is way to much when there’s 40°C outside. Read more ...

It’s about time, that I tell u a bit what’s been happening here in Down Under. The last weeks have been a blast. The weather has been fantastic and there has been wind almost every day. Last weekend we went on a road trip down south to my favourite surf spot Denmark. Although travelling for more than six hours it is really worth the effort. The little country town with the award winning pie shop has to be loved. Whoever has been reading my blog over the years has read about that town before. Besides travelling I’ve been going down to Woodies a lot. Alex Pastor, Cesar Portas and Bruna Kajiya are also in Perth at the moment so it is a lot of fun riding with them. Little by little I am getting back to my last year’s shape. I could really feel that i had not been kiting for five month. So there is still a lot to catch up with. That is the state of affairs so far. I am going for a surf now at Trigg’s Point. Read more ...
