This last weekend was pretty epic in the keys. 30 - 35 mph winds the whole time. We did a couple down winders to the headges and rode the first hedge most the time. Did some of the biggest kiteloops Ive ever done by far on my new 9m Hp. Pretty sick. Also did some shooting at whale harbor. Trevor at www.trevorgoldsmith.com got some nice shots from the beach too. Just got back from a last minute trip to Mexico. Lucky enough that Paul had a good friend down there so we stayed with this really cool girl Kirsten. Had a really good time and met a ton of really cool people. We kinda got screwed on wind, had some really strange weather, but got to ride two days, one on my 8 Nemi, so i was super stoked!

I Went to the 3rd stop of the CKA college tour this weekend, and after expecting zero wind at all we ended up being able to ride both days and held a freestyle competition. Had a really good time riding with everyone, and overall the whole event was a lot of fun.
The Results:
1st: Joe Ruscito
2nd: Matt Sexton Read more ...

Took a trip to the keys last weekend. Had a really good time. Rode all day Saturday and rode all day Sunday and shot video with Steve (video soon to come). Then Tuesday morning got up and decided to head to Matheson in Miami to shoot with Gavin. Really lit on the new Nemi and got some pretty good shots. The kite is Sick, super fun when your really lit!

So I just got back from the King of the Great Lakes event, ended up that we had no wind, but that being said, it was probably as much fun as it could have been. All the guys at Mackiteboarding were super cool, and even though we had no wind tried to make the best of the situation. We had stand up paddleboard races, and did quite a bit of wakeboarding. The guys had a winch, Jet Ski and a kicker and slider, so the second day we had a little bit of a freestyle event. Actually ended up getting second in freestyle ha-ha, definitely the best I’ve done without ever going kiting! Had a Great time. Read more ...

Congratulations to Joe Ruscito for winning the Bridge of the Gods event on Saturday in the Gorge! And also to Paul Porter (loyal Joe-Photographer and Slingshot rider) for finishing third!
According to race director Gary Reed, "The Slingshot Bridge of the Gods Kiteboarding Festival has historically been a launching pad for amateur kiteboarders attempting to become professionals." So in winning this event, it's perfectly in keeping with Best's ongoing campaign to Help Joe Go Pro. And, if it's true that once you win money by winning an event, you're considered to be a professional, we have succeeded in achieving our goal! (At least, we hope it's true that he's won money ... he needs to take his Team Manager out to dinner, or at least buy her a bottle of champagne!) Read more ...
