Hi all!
This week has been celebrated the KPWT World Championship in Tarifa. We had very good wind conditions, almost every day between 15-25 knots of poniente, and a very nice temperature.
Thursday was the day of lightest wind, but were disputed some racings. On Friday we could do the simple elimination of Freestyle. In the first heat I had to compete against Sophie Mathews, but training before her heat she hurt her ankle so she didn’t compete. The next heat was against the polish Ania Grzelinska. Just before my heat, I was training, and did a bad landing on a slimchance and I had pain in my knee again. That made me go out and compete carefully. I did two handlepass, a blind judge and a fornt mobe, but it wasn’t enough, and Ania won because she did more variety. I really don’t understand how they judge the heat, but for me was a little unfair to appreciate more the variety than the technical difficulty. In the next heat, which was the losers final, I faced against Kris Kinn. I didn’t go to the heat because I had a lot of pain in my knee and I decided to wait to the double. Finally, I get the 4th position in simple elimination. On Saturday they began to run the doubles, but as there were many competitors, I didn’t competed. It was on Sunday when I compete against Kari Shibevaag, to fight for the 4-5 positions, and beat her. After I faced against Kriss Kinn to access to 3rd place and got through. To be second I had to compete with Noelia Nuñez. Noelia rode very powerful, landing a blind judge, but I pass with 4 different handlepasses and finally I arrived at the final, which was against Ania. If I wanted to win the competition had to win twice Grzelinska. I made some good heats, with lots of variety in the jumps and 4 handlepasses. Finally get the 1st place, although it was very hard, because the knee hurt a lot. I ran a high risk because I could break the ligament, but I went for it with decision, motivation and believing in my possibilities. I am very happy to have achieved this victory, and best of all is that I’ve competed at home with all friends supporting me. Read more ...
