We had a super nice journey this time. The flight over to Australia went super quickly. The food on the plane was awful though. We arrived in the middle of the night and had to wait for ages to get my luggage. In the end I slept like three hours.
Today was a bit of wind so I took advantage of it and drove down to Woodies. Paul Smyth was there as well. He took a couple of pictures there. So I hope to get heaps of more pictures done soon. It’s looking windy for tomorrow. So maybe we’ll get some done tomorrow. Other than that the water is not that cold. I was afraid of that. But it is alright.. Hope to upload some more pics tomorrow. So have a look then again.

 Mike Schitzhofer: Morocco and Germany

So after not updating my homepage for quite a time I found some minutes to catch up.

The last weeks have been very exciting and stressfull. After a weekend at home I went to Morocco for the Pkra tourstop there. The event was in Essouira and everything was pretty small. The conditions have been very hard with gusty, nuking wind every day. In the singlelemination I could get up to the 4th place which made me really happy. Later in the doubleelemination I had to go against Andy Yates and he kicked me to the 5th place. But still an awesome result for me and I’m super stoked!

After my time in Africa I flew home to Austria for two days to wash my clothes and to pick up my girlfriend to go to germany for the next worldcup. It was time for the biggest event this year and it was held in St. Peter Ording like every year. Carina and I had a great time up in the north and the weather was unexpected good this year. The wind was blowing almost every day and there have been thousends of spectators to watch the show on the water. At the concert on the second weekend when Jan Delay was preforming they counted 43000 people on the beach!!! The comp itself did not go to well for me. I hurted my ankle befor the event and still felt some pain in my heats. In the end I got a 9th place.

Now Carina and I drove further up north to visit Denmark. In the moment we stay in Hvide Sande and the place is nice and the spots are looking sick!!!

Jule Hosp: Really exciting news from Montpellier

The 10 days of the Worldcup in Germany flew by faster than ever before. There was wind every single day, awesome parties, and it just always feels great to meet old friends and check up on what they have been up to! Since I am done with my studies it also gives me more time to focus on a lot of new things...

For the first time in 2 months I have been on the water again, and I also had the chance to try the my new Onboard Cam for a short sess. If I was a little better with the editing I could put it online right now, but I have to wait till Marv helps me out, and I will put it on tomorrow or so. It was such a good feeling to hit the water and not the books ;-)

After the Worldcup here in St. Peter I am flying straight to the release of our 2 new Kites from Fone to Montpellier. I already got a glimpse on the new products, and I can just say: WOW, sick!!! I am not allowed to give away any info, but I know that the kitsport is going to experience a small revolution in the next few weeks. I am here for 1 week to shoot a video and have a dealer- and pressmeeting. I hope I can give you one pic or so after here, but everything is kept really top secret and nothing is being released till the final date in September.

Beginning of August I am off to the worldcup in Fuerte for a week and from there straight to a Waveevent in Teneriffe. I will get the video uploaded tomorrow or so, get ready for sick angles :-)

Cheers

Jule

Tomorrow night I’ll be flying back to Australia. My girlfriend has to go back to uni. So we need to head back there. A bit weird to go from summer with long hot days to a place where it is still warm but the days are shorter. On the other hand, winter means swell in Australia. And I am more than keen on getting into waves again. Surfing is just so much fun and so challanging as well. I am taking my kitestuff with me too. There is still a good chance going kiting in winter though. Gotta keep packing. See ya in Perth.

Northern Freestyle - Denmark ‘10 from Nick de Bruijn on Vimeo.

In preparation for the Seat Kitesurf Tour Europe on Sylt, the North team decided to do a road trip to Denmark for some last minute training. Joining them, video / photographer Nick de Bruijn to document their journey.

With the wind blowing from the North-West the team traveled all along the West coast visiting spots like: Rømø, Hvide Sande and several spots near Krik/Vestervig and Oddesund. Denmark turned out to be perfect for a week of training. A different spot every 5 minutes, waves, flat water, lagoons and enough place everywhere to set up your kites!

Enjoy the epic freestyle action from Mario Rodwald, Stefan Spiessberger and Tom Schüller!

“Mario Rodwald” : After the last party with all my friends from school (and some cool teachers) I finally dropped out of my well-ordered life and went for a trip to Denmark. Tom Schüller and Stefan Spiessberger came with me to rock the beautiful country up north.
In the last seven days we had more then enough wind to check some new flat water spots all around the coast. We also got some big waves and up to 40
knots in Hvide Sande. Nick de Bruijn came with us to record some moving pictures of our roadtrip.

So check my blog next week to see the movie and receive the latest news from the Seat Kitesurf Tour Europe on Sylt!

“Stefan Spiessberger” : Finally, after hard studying the last years, I passed my last exams in school! Yeah, I did it!

Right after it, I started an awesome roadtrip to Denmark, discovering some of the best flatwaterspots together with Mario Rodwald and Tom Schüller. Nick de Bruijn, a photographer from Holland, attended us the whole week. We’ve been shooting for a nice video quite a lot! Should be ready within the next days!

This week the biggest kiteboarding event worldwide takes places in St Peter Ording! Last year more than 120 000 visitors came to discover the sport, rock the party and enjoy the beach - this year even more people are showing up.
Saturday the trials of the freestyle event started and most of the German riders made it into the main event. On sunday nobody expected any wind but we were able to run the first round. Won against my team mate Luke Whiteside from the UK and in the next round it has been Seb Garat. The first half of this heat has been pretty good but in the end I missed my KGB blind and F Mobe blind…
Today ran the finals of the singles which Alex Pastor and Gisela Pulido from Spain could dominate. After my first heat in the doubles I´ve been happy with my show. Could do most of my switches and some clean kite- and downloop passes.
Tomorrow we hopefully will get some more action!

Looks like Spain is on a winning streak haha. After the victory on the world cup and Nadal on Wimbledon, I came to Germany with the spirit of the “red fury”!

It was a great day for me. I rode the way I wanted and landed some hard tricks like a KGB5 on the final. The conditions were pretty choppy, so before popping, I had to look for the place to land.

Luckily everything went right on that final and on the semifinal (against Kevin Langeree and Andy Yates respectively) and I took the win of the single elimination. I’m really happy for that.

So, the single elimination ended up like this:

1st, Alex Pastor

2nd, Andy Yates

3rd, Kevin Langeree

 Jule Hosp: Done with studying…

Jule Hosp

Wow, I am pretty sure that this has been the longest time ever that I have not updated my website, but it was for a reason. I just finished my absolute last medical exam, and this fall I will probabyl be starting some work in the hospital... I am not sure if I should say YAYYY, or NOOOO ;-) Anyways, I sure wont let kiting come short in my life!!!

I have 6 really though study weeks behin me. I went for at least 8h a day, stopped on a watch... pretty harsh. Butt he work paid off, my scholarship will be extended and I am looking forward to a great summer: First one week in St. Peter Ording for the Worldcup, then I fly straight to the Demo of the new Fone Kite to france, from where I leave to the Worldcup in Fuerte and Tenereffa... each a week. So my schedule is packed with lots of fun and work!

I will try to get the video from Brazil done in the next few weeks, and during my studybreak I also received my 2nd Cover of the year, shot my Jac: Kitemag-Australien have me on their front with a nice shot from my trip to Perth. Aside of that I also received lots of more magazine-coverage, so even though I was not actively kiting, I still worked for my sponsors and magazines ;-)

From now on, you will get at least one update a week... so check back!

Cheers
