In the middle of December, the wind dies in the northwest of Brazil, and letting come the clouds for the rain season.So we are pretty much done in here, we have been working hard the past month, shooting all over the place and pushing a lot other disciplines that definitively counts to contribute for the sport, like wakeskating and strapless surf, there is so much empty fields on this disciplines, that it’s fun to innovate new tricks on this ones…I’m stoked with the stuff we got it in here, so many different places, new tricks, and the most important one, the variety…  now its time to edit it with a classic ROCK ‘N Roll song!. Once again, we were scoping different points for kitesurf all over the coast, and we decided it was time to hit one place in Tabuba, were our friends owns a great restaurant pretty modern right on the point, its a power beach break right in front of the shore,so it was great to film it on the sunset, with the sun in the back. We got a couple of good turns, specially from Dani, he just smack the wave so hard that it looks insane. Read more ...

Today, the sun came out bringing some good light and good wind, so we drove all the way to the classic Taiba lagoon pretty early in the morning to get a Regular sess in the  flat water, and then it came the killer kicker sess in front of Taiba Village called Taibinha.The tide was high, and the sun in the back, perfect timing to get the action right in the middle of the Palm trees, and kickers breaking up glassy, so it was super fun to ride it in there and for the next days the ties are proper to hit it again, at least two times more, so we will make sure we have all the sickest action coming out from there, the beauty of this place it never ends… Read more ...

Hey yo,

The wind season here is reaching the end, now that we are in the middle of December, the winds are blowing lighter and swells are rolling more often so its being a good opportunity to have decent waves to surf with and without the kite. Today we drove down to the most famous place here to catch waves with the kite, Pecem.

The waves weren’t so big, but still was enough to have a fun session with all my country mates, its always lovely to hang out with the people you really know, always kidding and playing around. Read more ...

After being riding for awhile the last days in here and having half video in the back, it was a day for rest and do a very important thing for the vid, lifestyle shots, so I and my mate Dani Alvarez, a local boy that that i recruited, has some roots in skate and surfing background, so to film with him its like I’m filming myself, good understanding, we got a perfect sunset, clear skies, green light for filming interviews and funny stuff that is going to come out soon, also in my interview i kind of revealing myself into whats going on with the kite industry, big brands and specially people that never felt the sport in the heart, don’t want to mention names… has my riders of the sport underpaid and that touch me pretty deep…I will reveal myself in the right moment, to have the power enough to accomplished our tight mission, to be recognized as a serious boardsport. Hey Folk, Enough with the gay jokes,

It’s has been awhile that im in Brazil, enjoying a lot my time here, conditions are every single day perfect so it helps a lot to have all the tricks in the bag for the video shooting, at the moment im pushing alot wakeskate manouvers, now that i stop competing i can push this discipline and rising it up with the sport. On this past weekend we were scoping new beaches for wakeskating, with cool backgrounds and super flat spots,  im stoked couse today I landed my first FS big spin, pretty sick i catch it in the air at 90* after the 360shov and then slide around to fakie, it feels so good when you land something new because it is sooo technical. Hey friends,

I was kind of off for awhile, i actually needed some time off of kiting and do other stuff, my mind was to much under pressure with the contests, i did for seven year in a row, so i think i deserved to stop a bit.

Now im back to Brazil to get back with a fresh mind and Just got my new board pro model with balance for 2010, we are really stoke with the result including this year the “titanal” a titanium metal under the abs on the tips that it really look sick. An the design inspired in the dye die tendencie that is rollin again into boardsports, mixing up all the colors of the rainbow it has a really straight contact with the basic nature. Read more ...

The new campaign of Arnette sunglasses, this year is bigger that any other year, pushing a lot into boardsports, its a great chance to promote our sport, opening a future market among the people coming from other boardsports. Totally believe that our sport has a great potential to grow up and be recognized as a serious boardsport into the other “S” sports.

For the last seven years, I’ve been pretty involved into competitions, most of the time I was doing it cause  i start it very young, and never was thinking why I was doing it, so i always wanted to be reconized as the greatest one, or the one that was doing the most technically stuff. As I see now kiteboarding from another point of view, in a point of view that I see hows kiteboarding developing as a boardsport,  and most of the time in competition I wasn’t identified with the way that it was going. So that situation brought to my mind, different ways or actions, that kiteboarding could be represented better and in a unique way, that even it might work better for calling the presence of the media, and so on sponsors. So all my intention and passion now, is based into create a better reconized sport, and focusing more in how it looks for the general public, with all this I want to call skaters,wakeboarders,snowboarders,surfers… showing them that we can still use rails on the same way the do, we can jump without hang out from the kite on the same way the do, we can surf waves more less on the same way the do and can make really make it that it look aggressive and stylish on the way they do. Right after the aranStyle event, one of the most important Tv channels of the country, Antena 3, trought out the next video link, with a very strong repercussion, more than 5 million views that day, not bad.

Now im chilling at home, with family and friends, making sure they are good, so im good too on the same way :D, i will shoot a little bit for Core Online Magazine on this weekend, and getting everything ready to hit the Antigua Park with dre and the boys, is going to be FUN!. Read more ...

It was the first time that Arnette Spain, organized an skii event with the riders presentation of the year, bring it on all the Arnette riders of different sports, Skate, Surf, Snow, kite, Skii, Music etc… It was a lot of fun living all the weekend with all those people and sharing different point of views and a same lifestyle. They built a massive kicker of 23 meter long for the skii event, and I wanted to hit it so bad with my kite, but it was no even one knot in all weekend, so I just went down once, just with the wind I was generetaing by going down with my snowboard, but it wasn’t enough to go all the way up the kicker, so I had to go away after the middle of the kicker, still was like 3 meter high, but with no any power of the kite. Later on I decided to go for a freeride up the montain with a friend of mine folowing with the camera, so we took the ski lift and go all the way up with the kite and bar in my hands, then I went all the way down out of the tracks with no wind, but still was good to get some sources for tv. Im looking forward to go next year, they want to build a bigger kicker, so I got to be there with some wind to hit it!. Read more ...

A couple days ago, i came to Madrid to manage my sponsors for this year and make some interview for some TV channel, called La Sexta. Is a pretty new channel so they have a lot extreme stuff and a lot entertainment for the youth. The program is called “Sexto Nivel”, and they use to interview a lot of famous riders all over the country. The program will be 5min on TV, interview plus some action and lifestyle, from my last trips, Southafrica and Brazil. Read more ...

Today was kind of crazy for my last day here in Cape Town, I had a last minute photo session with a friend of mine in Hout Bay, a couple hours before to leave to the airport, the spot it was a bit far, like an hour driving from the place we were staying. So we got there to the spot, and there weren’t any white caps, no wind at all, and we only brought the seven and nine meter, thinking that it was going to be very strong, But Suddenly the wind start to blow, straight on shore proper for the nine meter. Fortunately we could make it worth it the last session, with a couple nice pictures in the back. I’m sad to leave this place and definitively looking forward  to come back soon to keep shooting on this amazing place. Read more ...

An hour driving from Cape Town to the North, there is a Lake called Brandvlei. Normally, when the wind is too strong in Big Bay, it gets often more steady and lighter wind on this lake. So we decided that It was proper for a slick afternoon film session. Once we got there, it looked pretty sick, wind for nine meter, super flat water in the little bay, proper for jumping in regular, and the sun was setting so the rocky background It was getting more and more colorful. Back again to Cape Town, with a couple days with no wind, it was a good chance to do some other stuff, like climb to Lion’s head montain, it was good fun and amazing views of the city from the top. Finally the wind start to blow in the evening, so we decided that it was proper to go for a kicker sunset session in Big Bay Beach, we got there and everything it was set up, great light, perfect steady twenty knots,  perfect kickers and super flat in between. Definitively, it was one of my best sessions, so much fun out there and the footage it looks insane. Read more ...

We woke up very early to get the better light a wind of the day, we got to the spot and it looked unreal, perfect butter water, straight wind off shore and completely empty. We went all the way down to the beach trough the bushes, the scene was taken from a narrative, then we rode and film for a couple hours on a seven meter before the sun went up. One of my best session so far since im in South Africa, a shame we have to come back today, but definitely I ll come back to keep shooting on this great spot. Read more ...
