Alex Pastor: 1st on the singles in Germany

Looks like Spain is on a winning streak haha. After the victory on the world cup and Nadal on Wimbledon, I came to Germany with the spirit of the “red fury”!

It was a great day for me. I rode the way I wanted and landed some hard tricks like a KGB5 on the final. The conditions were pretty choppy, so before popping, I had to look for the place to land.

Luckily everything went right on that final and on the semifinal (against Kevin Langeree and Andy Yates respectively) and I took the win of the single elimination. I’m really happy for that. Read more ...

Alex Pastor: 3rd at France PKRA

Unluckily we only had one day of wind in the hole event.

We ran the single elimination on the first day, but the wind dropped for the next 5 days so the only thing we could do is to ride the cable. There was a pretty cool cable close to the event so we didn’t get really bored. Luckily I received the new airush wakeskate that’s coming out this year so we had a lot of fun. Stoked with the way it’s working. Read more ...

Alex Pastor: Front Blind Mobe

Here is a little clip of a Front Blind Mobe in Point Walter, Perth.

We’re having good winds almost everydays, the spot is amazing. Too bad I have to leave in 10 days, but I guess I’ll enjoy Thailand as well.

Filmed and cut by James Boulding.

Enjoy.

Alex Pastor: On Airush!!

I’m so happy to announce my new sponsor. I’ll be riding airush kites and boards from now.

I’ve been riding the gear for the last few days, specially at CORE Slider Jam and it couldn’t work better for me. The kites are just perfect for freestyle and the boards perform really good for boots and straps. Also I’m giving ideas for next year’s gear. We have so many improvements for next year and I believe we’ll have the best freestyle kite out there! Read more ...

Alex Pastor: Out of Naish

I’ll no longer be a Naish rider for 2010.

There were some problems with the company this year, so I won’t be sponsored by them anymore. The thing is that there’s a lot less of money on kiteboarding than we think… And brands can’t afford to have a team that big, even when they only promote one tider, haha.

Anyways I’m really happy with my new sponsor. I tried the kites and they couldn’t work better. Read more ...

Alex Pastor: 1st at New Caledonia PKRA!!!!!

Just won the doubles too a couple of hours ago, stooooked!!

I lost my first heat against Kevin in a 2-1 decision, so we had to re-run it. I just went for it with all my energy, starting with a front mobe 2 blind, then KGB switch, blind Judge5, KGB 2 blind, switch and regular back mobe and slim, kgb…. Went to the beach and heard the result.

I’m really happy, this is the first PKRA I win, hope not the last one, haha. Time to celebrate!!  Read more ...

Alex Pastor: Brazil

There’s been over three weeks since I got in Brazil. I flew here right after I got my new 2010 stuff from Naish and I have to say, the TORCH is just the best kite I’ve ever seen. The feeling is amazing, is powerful in the beginning of the trick and smooth in the air, the pop is huge and is really fast, stable and resistant. Here it’s really windy, have been kiting almost every days with my 8 and I’m having a really good time with some insane people from Germany, Spain, Boston, South Africa, belgium… around here. Looking forward for the competition, hope they confirm it.

Alex Pastor: Fuerte and Germany

Half of the tour is over. It appears that this year we’re only gonna have 6 competitions. The economical crisis and the late adhesion to IKA was pretty bad to find sponsors for the tour. On these two coms I ended up 7th. It’s not too bad but it’s worse than what I expected. In Fuerte I just didn’t ride good. I had some terrible heats due to the gusty and strong wind and I crashed too much. In Germany I had to ride in the first round against Blomvall. The wind was super light, as they cancelled the next heat. Anyway the heat was pretty close because either one of us had any power, so he won because he did 2 more switches. Some judges gave it to me because of my front mobe to blind. In the doubles I was on the last position, so I came up all the way to the 7th until I had to ride against Andy Yates. The heat was close all the time. We did basically the same tricks, mobe to wrapped, front mobe to blind, all the normal tricks… Apparently I did a switch back mobe and he didn’t, so It was more of my side until he landed a KGB to blind in the last second which gave him the win. Well, now I’m seeded 5th, so It shouldn’t be a really hard way to the top in the next competition in Brazil. Looking forward to it.

Alex Pastor: Training days in Fuerteventura

Last week we finished an intensive training in Fuerteventura. A lot of riders, specially from Tarifa were there. We stayed 10 days and we did a lot of things like swimming on the sea, running almost 8 km per day, raise dunes and big vulcans, going to the gym and stretching a lot. We’re all very happy with the training and definitely we can feel it on the water. I’ve always been so scared of injuries and this will help me a lot, specially with my knee. We also did a good report of pictures with Carlos about the training and a lot of action as well. Thanks to Kuki, the awesome trainer and artist; and to the rest of the riders: Mallory, Cesar, Gianni, Soufiane and Jo.

Alex Pastor: 1st day France PKRA

Today we started the single elimination in Leucate.

The weather was a little bad: rainy and wind for 6m overpowered…The day started a little bad because a French rider (Tiger) had an accident and cut his face with his own board. Everyone was a little bit in shock after seeing that.

After a couple of hours we re-started the single and finished the first two rounds. I won both of my heats, so I’m still in. First was against Volpe and the second against Lewis Crathern. Read more ...

Alex Pastor: Naish House Movie

In the end of November most of Naish riders went to a house in Maui where we learned how to train and work better as a rider, we took a lot of pictures, created a story for the magazines… and the movie has just been released. Is a pretty interesting movie full of freestyle and waves action and a bit of documentary of what we did. You’d like that movie created by Elliot Leboe. Read more ...
